Hypnosis is a natural yet altered state of mind where the critical factor (inner critic, constant chatter) is relaxed and selective thinking is maintained. Natural, meaning everyone has the capacity to enter into the altered state of awareness known as hypnosis.
Gil Boyne, a twentieth-century pioneer in hypnotherapy, ascribes three identifying characteristics to the hypnotic state:
Hypnotherapy is unique in that the Hypnotherapist is simply facilitating the process of change that the co-therapist (the client) wishes to experience. The term "co-therapist" is used because the client is taking an active role in their care. All aspects of a session are collaborative, from the suggestions to the type of technique used. An interdependent relationship between therapist and co-therapist is created as both bring their resources to each session.
While there is a misconception about hypnosis that it is "mind control," hypnosis actually assists in regaining control of your thoughts and allows a higher awareness of the conscious decisions that are made. And because the entire process is collaborative, the co-therapist directs each sessions.
Using techniques to explore Inter life, Natal, Past and Current Life Regression allows us to tap into a greater understanding of current life conditions. Conducted in a therapeutic manner, regression can help dissolve unconscious blocks and gain an abundance of resources to use in present situations. The following is a list of common uses of hypnotic regression:
Hypnotherapy is a natural mind-body technique that can be used as an integral part of conventional medicine to prevent pain, diminish fear and anxiety, and relieve suffering. Methods used effectively promote healing at deeply profound levels and allow the co-therapist to participate in their own recovery. The following is a list of the more common uses of hypnotherapy as an adjunct to medical care:
Although there is no limit to the goals that can be worked towards, the following is a list of the more common goals addressed through hypnotherapy:
Emotional Freedom Technique, or Tapping, is a self-help technique that involves tapping on various meridian points on the body to resolve negative emotional reactions from trauma. As EFT is a complimentary service to Hypnotherapy it is included as a tool to use at home, and is also a highly effective tool on its own. EFT may be used for, but not limited to:
As a Certified Medical Support, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Fellow of the International Board of Hypnotherapy and graduate of the Hypnotherapy Academy of America, I use a variety of techniques to assist clients in finding and utilizing their resources to help create tangible and meaningful results in an environment that is compassionate and confidential.
I am passionate about empowering people to step into their authenticity with purpose, clarity & increased awareness.
I became a Hypnotherapist because of the incredible growth I experienced receiving the services myself. This is the type of deep work that brings one closer to the truest essence of who they are, and gives them resources to work through the challenges they face. I continue to gain as much information, resources and training I can because my intention is to have those who seek my services walk away from our sessions feeling hopeful , empowered and have a clear path toward what they desire.
In this video I talked about the “one and done” misconception surrounding Hypnotherapy and how I conduct sessions.
Hypnotherapy is an effective tool to use when battling psoriasis, in this video I share my experience.
I wanted to share a little bit about my session to show how a past life, or story, can connect with a current life issue. My session will not be on YouTube as it was very personal. I highly recommend Alba Weinman, a Clinical & Transpersonal Hypnotherapist (not whatever I said in the video!), and highly recommend having a session! It was such a healing experience.
One of my newest areas of study and practice is in Biofield Tuning! While I am not yet a practitioner, but rather a student, I offer this service free of charge to those who have had 3 or more Hypnotherapy sessions. This video is an excellent overview of what Biofield Tuning is, why it is effective and how the session is conducted.
